LUBBOCK — It was a tell of two halves. Permian jumped out to a 28-10 halftime lead over Frenship at Peoples Bank Stadium on Friday night. The Tigers scored 30 unanswered points in the second half to claim a 40-28 district opening win over the Panthers. The loss is the first of the season for Permian in five outings. Unfortunately, it means the Panthers are 0-1 in District 2-6A.
Permian Lashes Bishop Timon
ODESSA — Permian jumped out to a 35-12 halftime lead over Buffalo, New York’s Bishop Timon-St. Jude on Thursday night’s final non-district game. While Kasyn Armstrong was named Homecoming Queen, Mojo added another 20 second half points to post a 55-12 shellacking of the Tigers at Ratliff Stadium.
Explosion On El Paso In Second Half
ODESSA — Three first half Permian turnovers led to El Paso Eastwood taking a 28-14 halftime lead in the home opener for the Panthers. In the second half, Mojo slapped 42 points on the Troopers to claim a 56-34 victory on Friday night in Ratliff Stadium.
Permian Soars Past Franklin
EL PASO — After jumping out to a 41-0 halftime lead, Permian never looked back in the 61-0 lopsided shutout of the El Paso Franklin Cougars on Friday night at Franklin Stadium. Mojo quarterback Steve Steen made his presence known, scoring three rushing touchdowns and throwing three TD passes in the first half alone.
Permian Rallies Past Vandegrift
AUSTIN — Despite three first half turnovers, Permian rallied in the second half to defeat Austin Vandegrift 21-20 on Friday night at Monroe Memorial Stadium. Kobe Robinson scored two of the three Mojo touchdowns to lift the Panthers past the Vipers in a non-district clash to start the season.
