Feldt Leaves Permian After Five Seasons

Odessa, TX – Former Permian head football coach Blake Feldt has resigned from the Ector County ISD and will take the Athletic Director position at Midland ISD. He has been the football coach for five seasons with the Panthers.

While most coaches announce their resignation in early Spring to allow the new incoming coach a Spring Training session, Feldt’s announcement comes just less than a month before the team’s first practice on August 13.

Feldt is a 1979 Midland High graduate that previously led Pilot Point to the Class 2A Division I state championship in 2009. He has also coached at Breckenridge and Buda Hays. The former Bulldog finishes his stint at Permian with a 38-18 record.

ECISD has another seat to fill in the athletic department as Todd Vesely announced his move to the Metroplex, where he will the Athletic Director of the Fort Worth ISD.  Possible replacements for Vesely include:  Nancy Surber (currently on staff with the ECISD athletic department), Darren Allman (former Mojo head coach / former Southlake Carroll AD), Bruce McCrary (assistant AD with San Antonio ISD), and Mark Baker (assistant AD with San Angelo ISD).
