In the final non-district game for both teams, Permian traveled to Abilene to take on the Cooper Cougars at Shotwell Stadium. The Panthers came out on top.
The Panthers entered the contest coming off a loss to Harker Heights, while the Cougars had dropped their game against Lubbock Coronado. Both teams fell prey to Abilene High earlier this year.
