Ellison Promoted To Lead Panthers
ODESSA, TX – The Ector County ISD wasted no time in promoting Jeff Ellison to interim head football coach for the 2018 season. Ellison has been the assistant head coach and offensive line coach the past season. He, along with offensive coordinator Thad Fortune and defensive coordinator Vance Washington, was one of three candidates interviewed for the spot. ODESSA — Permian senior Matt Jones has verbally committed to Baylor University and plans to continue his football career in Waco. The 6’3″, 230 pound linebacker gave his verbal pledge to Baylor on June 22.
Team Black Late Surge In Spring Game
ODESSA — A fourth quarter surge by Team Black earned them a 26-21 victory over Team White in the annual Black-White Spring Game on Thursday evening at Ratliff Stadium. Easton Hernandez threw two touchdowns and ran for another to close out three weeks of drills and workouts.
Midland Outlasts Mojo In Barnburner
ODESSA — In a heated and close first half, Permian and Midland High battled to a 21-21 halftime deadlock at Ratliff Stadium. The war continued in the second half and it came down to a blocked extra point for the Bulldogs to pull out a 49-48 decision over the Panthers in Friday night’s District 2-6A clash.
