Martin Knocks Mojo From Playoffs

Odessa, TX — Third time wasn’t the charm for Permian in the Area Round of the Class 6A Division I state playoff.  Arlington Martin jumped out to a 28-7 halftime lead and extended the margin in the second half.  The Panthers’ season came to an end with a 71-28 loss to the Warriors on Friday night.

Bi-District: EP Franklin at Permian

While Friday night will kickoff the opening round of the 2019 Class 6A Division I state playoffs, it will be the second meeting between El Paso Franklin and Permian this season.  It’s been two months since the Cougars’ non-district win over the Panthers.  This time around, the stakes are just a little bit higher. Panthers Thump Abilene High

Abilene, TX — Entering tonight’s meeting, fifth-ranked Permian and sixth-ranked Abilene High sat atop District 3-5A with matching undefeated records.  The battle concluded with the Panthers claiming a 28-21 decision over the Eagles at Shotwell Stadium.  The Mojo victory breaks Abilene’s 29-game district win streak and secures the District Championship.

Permian Outclaws Mansfield Summit

Odessa, TX — Permian took advantage of being back in the state playoffs by defeating Mansfield Summit 45-31 in the 2006 5A Bi-District game at Ratliff Stadium.

Permian 1988 Football Schedule

Permian won 12 games, while suffering three losses, in the 1988 season.  The Panthers lost to Marshall 13-12 in a non-district game.  A 22-21 district loss to Midland Lee resulted in a coin flip to decide post-season advancement.  Mojo’s state title run was cut one game short after a 14-9 playoff loss to Dallas Carter. Permian Advances By Tie-Breaker

Odessa, TX — Trailing by 14 points at the half, Permian scored 21 points in the fourth quarter to tie Arlington High at Texas Stadium.  The Panthers advance in the 1987 state playoffs on tie-breaking first downs.

Permian Hands Reagan State Title

San Angelo, TX — Two fourth quarter turnovers by the Panthers was all Austin Reagan needed to claim the 1970 Class 4A State Championship.  Permian had opportunities to put the game away in the second half, but came up short in a 21-14 loss at San Angelo Stadium.
