The sub-varsity Permian baseball teams were in action today scrimmaging Odessa High. Permian JV Black will take several positives from an unofficial 8-5 victory over the Bronchos. Odessa High jumped out to a 3-0 lead over Permian's Black team at McCanlies Field. In the fourth inning, the Panthers tied the scrimmage and then took an 8-5 lead. The Mojo pitching staff had a couple of lapses early, but rebounded and finished strong - particularly in the 4th and 5th innings. Permian's defensive glove seems to have elevated.
Over at Coleman Field on the Odessa High campus, JV White were scrimmaging OHS. We had some athletes perform well on the mound. Defensively, the Panthers did fairly well in the field. Both teams struggled somewhat at the plate. Both Mojo JV teams will travel to Hobbs, New Mexico this Saturday. The varsity will be hosting Hobbs at McCanlies Field.
